Food Revolution Day is May 16, 2014

I am pleased to announce that I am an official ambassador for the Food Revolution.  I plan on helping to further the mission of Jamie Oliver's charities.   I believe in the same values that Jamie does:  that every child should learn about food, where it comes from and how it affects their bodies.  I try to do this through my own classes with children.  The Jamie Oliver Food Foundation here in the US thinks the everyone, young and old, should be able to learn lost or forgotten food skills.  I will volunteer some of my own time to educate others about good food.  I have just signed on, and you can, too.  Check out the info at Jamie's Food Revolution

Food Revolution Day will find me talking about bees with pre-school children in Greenfield.  (My colony has wintered over with great health and I will be installing a new colony into a new hive on Friday!!--more on that later.  But if you are interested in the installation of a bee package process, please contact me, and I would be happy to lend you a veil and you can come help.  I could especially use a photographer as my hands will be busy.)
I am hoping to get some other events going, but I could use help, as I had already put the pre-schoolers on my calendar for that day before I signed on.  So my Food Revolution will begin with the very littlest food explorers.  The teachers have organized a whole week of activities, culminating with my visit.
I am hoping to make it a complete bee day, by adding an evening event with some other beekeepers.  Anybody?

There is a worldwide cooking lesson with Jamie at 8:00 am local time that you can organize in your schools or anywhere you can gather and have access to the internet. I can help your teams with all the arrangements beforehand.  We are going for a world record for the most people at a cooking lesson.  It has been fun to see the momentum growing for this event all across the globe.   More info can be found here:   Jamie's Live Cooking Lesson.
